Abstract


ENERGY POLICY OF GERMANY; PRODUCTION, CONSUMPTION, TRADE

Germany has fourth largest economy in the world and again it has third contry where most exporting in the world. A significant portion of its export goods requires heavy industry and advanced technology. This situation puts the power to make strategic for Germany. Germany aims to diversification of its energy supply, to boost alternative energy transport routes and to guarantee them. From this perstective, it's trying to reduce dependence on foreign energy sources. Germany's public opinion is not favorable to nuclear energy. They support renewable energy. Therefore, Germany is trying to gradually replace the existing nuclear power plants and replace them with renewable energy sources. As a result, the number of reactors active in recent years has been reduced from 17 to 7. The share of renewable energy in total energy consumption was increased to 18%.
