Abstract


A SURVEY ON ANALYZING THE ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES OF THE WORLD'S MOST VALUABLE 100 BRANDS WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF ENVIRONMENTAL ECONOMY

The fact that the resources are scarce and irreversible damage has been done to the environment has brought the environmental sensitivities of businesses into the forefront Given the changing circumstances and conditions, businesses cease to adopt a policy solely for making profit. At the same time, while businesses carry out their activities, they have to care for the interests of the future generations. In that context, this piece of research aims to reveal how the world's most valuable businesses shape their environmental policies. The researcher has analyzed the environmental activities of the businesses in line with the objective and research question and identified the importance for the environmental economy. The research sample consists of top 100 brands specified by Brand Finance. We have examined the websites of such brands between June 7 and August 1, 2018. The research is of importance for identifying the value and significance given by the businesses on the environment and generalization of the environmental policies and sustainable business administration. Content analysis has been employed as the research method. The research findings reveal the resource productivity, the issue that businesses emphasize most in the context of the environmental economy. Furthermore, the other important aspects include sustainability activities and the reduction of emission of harmful gases.
