Afet İçin Tasarlamak: Giyilebilir Tasarım Nesnesi Olarak “Battaniye”

21.yy.da tasarımın gelişen kapsamı, sosyal yapılarda ve problemlerde konumlandırılma biçimleri, son yıllarda tüm dünyada sıklıkla gündeme gelen afetler konusunda da çözüm önerme potansiyelini görünür kılmaktadır. Afetler gibi yıkıcı sonuçlar doğuran durumlar karşısında tasarım, iyileşme ve yeniden yapılanma süreçlerinde, insan yaşamını bireysel ve sosyolojik olarak yeniden inşa etmede nesneler, hizmetler ve sistemler yoluyla etkili bir araç haline gelmiştir. Bu çalışma, afet ve tasarım kavramları arasındaki ilişkide tasarımın değer önerme potansiyeline dikkat çekmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmanın odak noktası, afetlerin ilk 72 saatinde sembolik bir ürün olarak öne çıkan battaniyeyi giyilebilir bir tasarım nesnesi olarak yeniden ele almaktır. Bu bağlamda, çok işlevli tekstil nesnesi tasarlama yöntemleri ve insan merkezli tasarım ilkeleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Çalışmada yöntem olarak, afet ve tasarım kavramlarına ilişkin akademik literatür taramasının yanında, 6 Şubat 2023 Kahramanmaraş merkezli depremlere ilişkin raporlar, uluslararası ve ulusal düzeyde afet için tasarım çözümlerinde tekstil tasarım disiplininin potansiyeli araştırılmıştır. Ayrıca, konunun tasarım eğitimine uyarlanma metodolojisi araştırılarak çok işlevli tasarım nesnesi tasarım aşamaları tanımlanmıştır. Çalışmalar sonucunda Türkiye Tasarım Vakfı ev sahipliğinde yazarın yürütücülüğünde, farklı tasarım disiplinlerinden katılımcıların olduğu bir açık stüdyo çalışması yürütülerek konunun kolektif bir girişime dönüşme potansiyeli araştırılmıştır.
Sonuç olarak battaniyenin giyilebilir tasarım nesnesi olarak yeniden yorumlanması, “sosyal sorumlu tasarım” ve “sosyal inovasyon” perspektifiyle uyumlu biçimde, tasarımın kriz anlarında kolektif iyileşme süreçlerinde dönüştürücü bir araç olma potansiyelini somutlaştırmıştır.
